Iggy Azalea has had it with “clickbait” articles about her mental health.
The Australian rapper took to Twitter to shut down a Vulture story that featured the headline, “Iggy Azalea’s Management Staged an Intervention For Her.”

Azalea set the record straight. “It was because I suffered from depression,” she wrote. “And I’m only writing this to you because you may be unaware but writing headlines like this as ‘clickbait’ is trivializing mental health.”

Azalea has been very vocal about her depression; in fact, she recently opened up to Billboard about her time in rehab.
“They were like, ‘We think you’re really talented and you can go to the studio and make hits all day, but we don’t know if, you know, someone says something about you and you have a reaction it could ruin a branding deal. We need you to go and speak to these people and make sure that you’re mentally prepared to come out with new music,’” Azalea, 27, said. “I didn’t want to go there — I didn’t like the idea of being sent away somewhere. I was pissed.”
She ultimately realized that it was for the best. “I’ve never really sat down and had an honest conversation with professional people,” she admitted. “It was good to say something to somebody who could give me the tools and information on how to make my life manageable when I’m feeling those things.”
