Sevet Johnson will lead the Ventura County Behavioral Health Department as its director, county leaders announced Tuesday.
Johnson, of Moorpark, is a licensed psychologist who has worked for the department since 2009, most recently as clinic administrator and senior behavioral health manager.
The Ventura County Board of Supervisors approved the promotion Tuesday. She is slated to begin her new duties this month with a salary of $203,887.
Elaine Crandall resigned in February as Behavioral Health Department director to take another job. Administrator Pete Pringle was named interim director of the department in early March.
Johnson’s promotion follows a nationwide recruitment effort that involved more than 100 applicants, county officials said.
