Seriously, let go that Eggo — it could make you sick. Kellogg has recalled around 10,000 cases of Eggo Nutri-Grain Whole Wheat Waffles in 25 states including New York that could be tainted with the bacteria listeria.

A nasty little bug that affects the gastrointestinal and nervous systems, listeria can cause “serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems,” the Michigan food company noted in an online recall statement. Symptoms include high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Listeria can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.”

No other Eggo products are impacted by this recall and the company has received no reports of illness to date. The recall is a preventive measure.

The recalled waffles come in boxes of ten with “best used by dates” of Nov. 21, 2017, and Nov. 22, 2017, which can be found on the side of the package. You can also look for the UPC product code — 38000 40370 — on the label.

Kellogg urges you to throw away the affected products and contact them for a full refund by calling 1-800-962-1413 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or by visiting its website.
